The Bear in My Family by Maya Tatsukawa

The Bear in My Family is written and illustrated by Maya Tatsukawa.  It is a Geisel award winning book about a young boy who compares his sister to a bear.  He describes her as loud, messy, and too strong and is confused why his family treats the ¨bear¨ as a part of the family.  One day the boy encounter some bullies on the playground, and the bear roars with all her might and scares them away.  He realizes that having a ¨bear¨ in the family may not be so bad after all.  Readers with an overbearing sibling will be sure to connect to this fun loving story.
